Now that ain't fair game.

Pankaj Advani has refused to accept the Ekalvya award,

Well anybody wondering what’s wrong with Ekalvya ??!!!!

The name evokes controversy is n't it?

He surely is an Ekalavya, After all there is no government support to him. But he is the world champion.

But the problem is not as shallow as the timing is too late. It hides the deepest bruises that many of the sports people in India share.- The yearning for recognition.

How many of us really know or atleast care to know who Pankaj Advani is? After his 2003 IBSF World Snooker Championship title in China, made him only the second cueist after Malta's Paul Mifsud to have won both the billiards and snooker amateur world titles.

Now here is a question for your IQ. What is the difference between Billiards and Snooker?

But I bet everybody will know a Narendar Hirwani who took Eight wickets in one innings, and faded into history books with a pathetic average of 30+.

No offence meant for Hirwani but it shows how cricket obsessed are we and how ignorant we are about other sports. I am no exception.

It is not us to really bother about taking our eye of cricket to fix it on some other game. For sports is also a choice.

But when you see the governments rushing with lakhs together of prize money for a debut world cup winners, while the other sportsmen are waiting in queue to get their promised rewards years after their feat, I can only feel pity for those poor souls. There is more to sports, May be its time they learnt those games too.
